To take part in our club events you have to be a member. The membership year runs from 1st November to 31st October. If you join after 1st September your membership will cover you until 31st October the following year.
Non members may take part in up to 3 club events to see if you like way we do things. To take part in pool sessions the same applies. After 3 events you should feel obliged to join.
Full adult membership is £20. Students under 18 and further members of the same family £10. Complete a membership form and pay by BACS- bank transfer.
After you joined and have paid your fees you will be sent an email with your membership number. You will also receive instructions to register with the club calendar. Within a few days you log-on will be validated and you can then RSVP to club events. Each member will ned an individual email address to be able to RSVP to any event on the club calendar.
It usually takes a few days to complete the validation process. Please be patient and join in plenty of time so that you can join your first trip.
Membership renewals are due by the end of November at the latest. After this time your RSVP and membership of the club WhatsApp groups will be suspended.
If you are considering gaining a leadership, coaching or rescue assessment qualification from BC there may be grant aid available to support you. Awards my be granted by Cumbria Canoeists. LCC will support your application by providing a letter of support if you have and / or are intending to help our club by leading / coaching official club trips.
To qualify for a grant, you must be:
- Resident in Cumbria
- A member of British Canoeing
- An active member of a canoe club or other voluntary sector organisation involved in Paddle Sport in Cumbria
