Trip reports are a great way of sharing knowledge with fellow club members. Reports are published on the Club News page and automatically copied to the club Facebook page.
Here are a few tips on how to submit a good trip report.
Title – please include the location in the title to allow easy searches e.g.: Leven – advanced trip; Duddon estuary in a force 4; A sunny day on Ullswater etc.
Start with some useful details; date, river level, weather conditions for sea kayak trips
Write the text, any style you like but please keep to a couple of paragraphs for normal trips, a bit longer is fine for multi day trips. Please send in Word or just write the text as an email.
Send a few pictures (ideally no more than 6) – please just attach the photos to your email, don’t try to embed them in your report. If you want them in particular places in the report just put something like “pic 1 here” in your text. If you want to add captions, write the captions at the end of the text and make sure we can link them to the pics.
Please ensure that everyone has give consent to photographs of them being published.
Unfortunately the website cannot handle video clips, but they can go on the club YouTube channel.
Email your contribution to the trip reports officer, email address in the club newsletter.
