Welcome to Lakeland Canoe Club.
We are happy to resume normal activity after COVID19 restrictions.
We are friendly club based around Kendal in the Lake District, offering many canoeing opportunities for our members. These range from river trips in the Lakes and Pennines and also local weekends for longer trips to Scotland, sea trips on the Cumbrian coast and weekends in the North East of England and Scotland.
The club members co-ordinate and lead a range of trips for different abilities, including on sea, lakes and rivers. We also run pool sessions. In 2020 we had over 230 club events- something for everyone. Visit our calendar for details of trips organised by the club and among club members and general discussions. When you join our club you will get a calendar login to add your own trips, RSVP to sign up to trips and leave posts.
We offer weekly pool sessions at Kendal Leisure Centre from 8.30pm till 9.30pm on Monday evenings. Some sessions are for kayak skills, sea kayak skills and canoe polo. See the calendar for dates / details. Beginners / improvers are very welcome. For own skills sessions find more info here and for polo find more info here.
These friendly and informal pool sessions will allow you to pick up or practice kayaking skills, play canoe polo and meet like minded people. All kit is provided. We also play competitive polo matches with inter-club polo tournaments organised to give new and experienced players the chance to show off skills picked up at pool sessions. Pool use link.
Lakeland Canoe Club Vision
We want to be the best paddlesport club in Cumbria. Practically, this means having active members, who are safe, skilful paddlers, out enjoying the water on a regular basis, and looking after each other. We welcome new members, regardless of their level of experience.
